External Wall Insulation Grant is an energy efficiency measure that can help households prevent heat loss and saves you money on your fuel bills. You can save up to £930 per year, according to the Energy Saving Trust (EST). External wall insulation is particularly beneficial for homes with solid walls that cannot be insulated using cavity wall insulation.
Rendering or cladding preserves insulation and improves house appearance. Properties with EPC ratings of E, F, or G are eligible for ECO4 grants for exterior wall insulation.

What is the
ECO4 Scheme?
ECO4 is the latest phase of the Government’s Energy Company Obligation, running from August 2022 till March 2026.
The Scheme aims to provide free energy saving measures for vulnerable households to improve the efficiency and heating of their home.
Eligibility criteria:
If you receive a qualifying benefit, you may be eligible for a grant to cover some or all of the costs of upgrading your home’s insulation or heating system through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) programme. The programme, called ECO4, is now in its fourth and final phase and has been available since early 2013.
